Showcase Productions Society is a not-for-profit, community theatre organization located in Amherst, Nova Scotia, devoted to developing an appreciation for, and improving the quality of, performing arts within the community. Additionally, Showcase strives to provide financial assistance to deserving students who wish to study some facet of the performing arts by providing sponsorships to music, theatre and dance camps as well as providing two $1,000 scholarships to students graduating from the Amherst Regional High School or some other Cumberland County High School and going on to study the performing arts.

Response to the Production

Producer reaction: “When I saw it in New York, I was so taken with the music and the production, I couldn’t wait to obtain the rights for our Theatre group to do the show.”

Cast reaction: “Our cast loved the music and the story line. The set was able to be simple because the music was the focus of the play.”

Audience reaction: “Our audience loved the play, especially the Christmas scene. It brought back so many memories for everyone whether they were overseas or stayed at home. ”
